Delete Your Account
This page explains how to permanently delete your Pawn Forward account and what happens to your data when you do.
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account directly from the Pawn Forward web application or mobile app. Follow these steps:
- Open the app or website: Sign in to your Pawn Forward account at https://app.pawnforward.net or via the mobile app
- Navigate to Settings: Click or tap on the Settings icon in the navigation menu
- Go to Profile settings: Select the Profile tab or section
- Find Delete Account: Scroll down to the bottom of the profile settings where you'll find the "Delete Account" option
- Confirm deletion: Click or tap "Delete Account" and confirm your choice in the dialog that appears. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
Note: This process works the same way in both the web application and mobile app.
What Data Gets Deleted?
When you delete your account, the following information is permanently removed from our systems:
- Profile information: Your name, email address, chess platform usernames (Chess.com, Lichess, USCF ID, FIDE ID), and all profile settings
- Chess study sessions: All recorded study sessions, including duration, categories, notes, and timestamps
- Study goals: All study goals you've created and your progress toward them
- Homework assignments: All homework you've been assigned or created, along with completion status
- Preferences and settings: Theme preferences, notification settings, and all other user preferences
- Account credentials: Your password and authentication tokens
Deletion is immediate and permanent. Once you delete your account, there is no grace period or recovery option. Your data cannot be restored.
What may be retained: Some anonymized analytics data may be retained for service improvement purposes, but this data cannot be used to identify you. Payment records may be retained as required by law. Copies of your data may remain in encrypted backups for up to 60 days after deletion.
Can't Access Your Account?
If you're unable to sign in to your account but still want to delete it, we can help. Contact us via email with your deletion request.

What to include in your email:
- The email address associated with your account
- Your username (if you remember it)
- A clear statement that you want to delete your account
Response time: We will process your request and respond within 7 business days. For security purposes, we may ask you to verify your identity before deleting your account.
Before You Delete
Before deleting your account, please consider the following:
- Export your data: If you want to keep a record of your study sessions or goals, make sure to export or save that information before deleting your account
- Cancel subscriptions: If you have an active subscription, it will be cancelled when you delete your account. You will not receive a refund for any unused subscription time
- Teacher-student relationships: If you're a teacher, deleting your account will remove all student connections and assignments. If you're a student, your teacher will no longer be able to view your progress
